Our Story
Born in Mombasa,
Built for East Africa
Tarazad Freighters was founded in Mombasa, Kenya — the gateway to East Africa. Starting with a small fleet of trucks running cargo from the port to Nairobi, we quickly expanded our reach to serve the entire region.
Today, we operate across 9 countries through 5 major trade corridors, connecting landlocked nations to the coast and businesses to their markets. Our deep understanding of East African border procedures, road conditions, and regulatory environments sets us apart from operators who treat the region as an afterthought.
Every route we run, every border crossing we navigate, and every shipment we deliver reflects our belief that reliable logistics infrastructure is the backbone of economic growth in East Africa.

Meet Our Director
Fred Opon
DirectorFred Opon is an experienced logistics and operations professional with over 15 years of expertise in the transport and shipping industry. He holds a degree in Shipping, providing him with a strong academic foundation combined with extensive hands-on operational experience.
Fred began his career in transport management, serving as Transport Manager at Danros (2014–2017), where he developed deep expertise in fleet coordination, regulatory compliance, and route optimization. He then joined Lori as Operations Manager (2017–2018), playing a key role in streamlining operational processes and improving efficiency across logistics functions.
From 2018 to 2023, Fred held the position of Head of Operations at Lori, leading large-scale logistics operations, overseeing teams, and driving performance improvements across transport, warehousing, and supply chain coordination. His leadership was instrumental in enhancing operational reliability, cost control, and service quality.
Today, as Director, Fred Opon brings a strategic vision grounded in operational excellence, industry knowledge, and a results-driven approach to logistics management.
